WWJSL (What Would Jesus Smell Like)
So, I found this candle that is supposed to smell like Jesus. It's supposed to be based off Ps. 45:8 that describes the smell of the Messiah's robe. And you wonder why we Christians have a bad name sometimes. I am sure Jesus stunk pretty bad. He didn't just smell like aloe, myrrh and cassia. He smelled like aloe, myrrh, cassia and body odor. These heavy scents were meant to mask the nasty BO people had back then because they didn't shower and wiped their butt with their own hands. They acted much like a car air freshner.
Also, I wonder if the manufacturer of this candle toyed with the idea of a blood and sweat version to put out during the Easter season. Or you could mix in the smell of livestock to promote the Christmas time. Even better the scent of fish and ocean to mark the calling of the first disciples around the see of Galilee. Perhaps a wine flavored candle to commemorate the wedding in Cana. Personally, I would like to have a candle that smells like rotting flesh for when Jesus raised Lazarus from the dead.
